Using Geo Tags in Search Engine Marketing

Using geographical tags in either the title or description tags of your website is one of the fastest ways to get traffic, and will help people in finding your website on search engines. More and more people are now searching for products or services within a specific town or region. Examples include web design London, taxis in Reading or cinemas in Reading. Using the search terms, Google returns the precise results for any geographical region. How can you do this? Change the title tag to contain the name of the town such as London in the title heading and also change the description tag to include the region such as London. This will ensure that Google picks up the correct information using the tags. Don't forget to add some new keywords such as "web design London" into the list of keywords of your keyword tag and re-submit your site map in order for Google to re-index your changes. You will find that using geo tags in your website will enhance your traffic and customers looking for local services will find your website more easily on search engines. The facts are that geo tags are now widely used by web masters and search engine optimisation experts. Google maps is another alternative to a free listing, it is highly recommended to add your business listing on Google maps, after all it's free.

Matthew, I can agree with your Intel. In fact, most small to medium size businesses do business in their local areas only, so this type of targetting make more sense for them. There are companies that are certified by Google as capable to offer such keyword services of which you write, too.
