Web Design Using Content Management Systems

By Peter Jones of zilabee web design

Why I prefer Content Management Systems as opposed to static HTML web sites.

Have you though about what happens when you need to make even a small change to your HTML web site? The first thing is, you need at least a basic understanding of HTML and how to upload your changes on the server. If you are new to HTML then its highly likely an experienced web designer will have to make the changes for you, and there will be costs to add to this too. How often will this need to continue?

A Content Management System (CMS) is now more popular amongst business and commercial web sites. To avoid the complex coding, you can simply login to an administration panel, select your page for editing, make the changes and publish to the web. It sounds simple, the only draw back is knowing how to find the pages your looking for and some useful skills in using an editor. This is not a big issue, with a small learning curve you can become familiar with making the changes your self.

The main advantage of using a CMS is that search engines will favour you more if you change your content frequently. The most important aspect of this is the "Quality of the Content", even better if you have some unique selling point or product.

A CMS is the most recommended solution for web sites and the best investment for the future. A CMS will also adopt to any future plans for adding additional pages or menus to your web site.

Ecommerce shops can also benefit from using a CMS, this is now the biggest advantage for Ecommerce store owners.
